Another Anti-Aging “Medical Miracle” Hits a Big Bump in the Road

By · Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

I’ve never been one for jumping on the bandwagon of some new “amazing” medical discovery because as a chiropractor I know from years of experience that chiropractic works in a natural, non-invasive way to bring about healing in many instances. Chiropractic is tried and true, has no side effects and won’t eventually turn out to be “hazardous” to your health. Through the years I have seen many people who’ve jumped on a “medical discovery miracle” bandwagon get hurt when that bandwagon hit a big bump in the road. No new medicine, in my opinion, should be tried on a “whim,” or blindly followed because some doctors are advocating it as the “be all, end all” to come age-related problem. As a case in point, research results published in the Dec. 6 online edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, indicates that the growth hormone that many older people have been taking to rejuvenate them, believing that medical research had found the “fountain of youth,” strongly suggest when given to middle aged and older people, may be hazardous! Of course, this research is advocating a compound that acts in the opposite way as growth hormone as the most current, and in my opinion “unnatural” way to reduce signs of aging.

I have found that the fewer pharmaceuticals that a person puts into their body over the years, and the fewer invasive procedures that a person allows their body to sustain in general, the slower the body will age. And, in addition, staying well-adjusted, not as a whim, but as a lifelong health addition to a good diet and exercise is the key to longevity and feeling energetic and vital as a person ages!
